Leading consultants feel 'on top of the world' after scaling
new heights for charity!
Some of the UK’s leading urologists are quite literally
coming back down to earth after taking part in a gruelling trek in
the Himalayas, in aid of health charity, Prostate
Action.
Based at The London Clinic, Consultant Urological Surgeons, Mr
Simon St Clair Carter and Professor Roger Kirby (who is also a
Trustee of Prostate Action) were joined by eight other medics and
patients as they took on the challenging journey to Mustang (an
ancient Kingdom on the border of Tibet). The team has already
raised almost half a million pounds for their chosen charity.

The trek, which took 10 days to complete, took the men across
some of the world’s most inhospitable terrain, climbing 20-30 miles
each day.
One of the former patients who took part in the trek was 75
years of age – with the average age of the group, being 61! Mr St
Clair Carter said there was a huge sense of “team work and great
group dynamics” on the trip, with everybody who took part saying
they were amazed by “the mind-blowing scenery, the unforgettable
geology and the overall heritage and culture of the region.”
There’s still time to sponsor the team who, over the years, have
raised a staggering £1.3m through treks and other challenges.
